Bed Bug (Cimex lectularius)

Once considered eradicated, the bed bug is now on the rise worldwide. Due to globalization and the global increase in the movement of goods, as well as increased tourism, the bed bug is managing to make itself comfortable in our bedrooms. Adult specimens are dark brown and grow up to 7 mm in size. Bed bugs usually only emerge from their hiding places at night and then create so-called “linear bite patterns,” meaning they feed several times in a row. Once the insects have finished feeding, they are spherical and return to their hiding place.
